” Nowhere can man find a quieter or more untroubled retreat than in his own soul.”
-Marcus Aurelius
The Secret Lantern aims to illuminate our human nature through art and words. It stands as an expressive collection of work aimed at exciting feeling and emotion, both traits that define our humanity.
I am a durometer technician at a metrology company. Working with my hands and developing “the touch” for certain procedures brings me great satisfaction. I also field part of our company’s CAD operations.
I’m a 32 year old guy saving money for my own place. For now, I live with my family along with their dogs and cats.
Education has always been important to me. Having gone to Loyala High School in Los Angeles, I was prepared for my experience at UCSB, where I got my Bachelors in Classics. I lived in Isla Vista for two years while working as a CSO for the UCPD.
I tried my hand at private investigating, real estate and teaching Latin. The most important lessons were learned as a barista, having worked at The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf before and after university.
I have an interest in cars and love my 2014 Audi RS5. I also play the guitar and have an eclectic taste in music. Creative writing and poetry also provide an excellent outlet for thoughts (my favorite poem is “If-” by Rudyard Kipling).
